| Cygnus 20" diameter / mahogany My client brought me a mahogany bed frame. It had belonged to his brother who had passed away 20 years ago. This material held sacred and very personal energies. From this wood he asked me to create a gift for his wife, who's personal symbol was the Swan. I joined the wood to create a large block and carved her swan flying past the earth toward the constellation Cygnus (the swan). The boarder is done in a Celtic knot pattern to honor her Irish heritage. This piece now hangs in their home as a loving honorarium to his wife and a memorial to his brother. |
